Sales Associate at Mondelez
I am a sales associate for Mondelez International, which is comprised of all products within the Nabisco brand family, for example, Oreos. I call on several large retailers around the metro Detroit area and make sure all their needs are meet and try to grow the brands I am representing and increase sales.
What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?
The most rewarding part about my job is securing incremental displays to increase sales and getting good feedback from managers.
What activities, resources, or people helped you prepare for your career?
Networking through the food marketing program definitely helped me secure this position. The food marketing program at Western has so many resources to take advantage of that helped me grow professionally and be involved within the industry before I even graduated. The industry tour was one of my favorite experiences because I was able to meet professionals within the industry and see more clearly which path I want to take following graduation.
What advice do you have for others pursuing a career similar to yours?
Be involved as much as you can during your college experience. There are many resources available that won't be available once you graduate. Connect with professionals in the industry and research companies to get a better understanding of different career paths.
