Note: When you click the above link to sign up for New Student Orientation, you are routed to the WMU MyBronco sign in page. This is the same account that you created when you first applied for admission to WMU. Your sign-in is the email address you used, and the password you created when you applied. This is not the same as your BroncoNet ID, used with the GoWMU Portal to conduct most of your University business.
The sign-up process for New Student Orientation will begin on January 31, 2018
The 2017 Campus Navigator is live and ready to serve as your complete guide to Orientation, Student Transitions, and University resources.
All 2018 high school graduates entering Western in the fall will be required to attend Orientation in the summer. This is regardless of dual enrollment, Early Middle College, and transferable credits. All 2017 high school graduates, that have not attended any college post high school graduation, will also be required to attend New Student Orientation in the summer. Students will meet with Academic Advisors and register for fall classes during Orientation. With the exception of Medallion students that participated in "Honors First," students will not be allowed to register for classes prior to attending Orientation.
The mission of the Western Michigan University Orientation program is to provide a comprehensive experience which will aid new students in their transition to the institution, expose new students to the educational opportunities within WMU, integrate new students into the academic and campus life of the institution, increase the retention rate of new students, assist parents and families of new students to understand the University environment and services and enhance parental awareness of issues facing college students.
Congratulations on your decision to attend Western Michigan University. You will soon join the ranks of the many proud Broncos that have graced our campus in the past 115 years. Western Michigan University has countless points of pride and when you study here, you are learning from some of the best instructors in the country.
