The Amazing STRENGTHS Race is a competition based on the multi-Emmy Award reality series where teams of students will trek around WMU's campus and compete in a series of challenges based on Gallups Strengths. The competition will take place on April 6 at noon, and begin on Sangren Mall. Here in the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University, the success of students is our priority. The Office of Student Success and Retention works with all undergraduate students in the college to assure that all students have what they need to ultimately reach their full potential.

We recognize the role of family to the success of each student, and we see ourselves as an extension of the family for each student. CEHD SSRO has a team of professionals who are attentive to the needs of students. The staff advocates on the behalf of our students to provide a better higher education experience. 

The Student Success and Retention Office (SSRO) offers:

  • #MotivationMonday text messaging campaign. Once a week students will receive a motivational message from our office. Occasionally the college will send important announcements. To subscribe to this service, text CEHD to 81010.
  • Students Excelling in Education and Development Peer Mentoring Program is a mentorship
  • Success Appointments
  • CEHD 2010: Academic Discovery: CEHD 2010 is a semester long course to assist students in establishing skills to become successful at the university through self discovery.
