Virginia (Robinson) Sorenson, an emerita teacher in education and professional development at Western Michigan University, died Nov. 7, 2016. She was 90.
Sorenson retired in 1985. During her time at WMU she taught and served as director of summer schools for teacher training.
A lifelong educator, she began her career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse. Her career prior to coming to the University included positions as elementary school principal and K-12 curriculum coordinator for Michigan's Wyoming Public Schools.
Sorenson earned bachelor's and master's degrees from WMU.
