Armed robbery reported on campus

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—An armed robbery was reported in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Feb. 17, near the Student Recreation Center on the Western Michigan University campus.

A male WMU student who lives in French Hall was approached at 12:10 a.m. on foot by two males dressed in black-hooded sweatshirts and sweatpants and wearing bandanas. The pair was reportedly armed with a gun and took a small amount of cash.

Following the robbery, the victim, who was uninjured, reported the pair fled on foot behind Read Fieldhouse. The robbery report was made to the WMU Department of Public Safety at 12:20 a.m. and a WMU Alert was quickly issued.
