George William Hobbs

Former Western Michigan University coach and professor, George William Hobbs died Thursday, March 12, in Merritt Island, Florida. He was 75.

Hobbs was hired as the Broncos' head golf coach in 1965. He also served as assistant wrestling coach from 1965-69 before becoming the wrestling head coach in 1969.

Services

A celebration of Hobbs' life is planned for 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, at Southridge Reformed Church, 6726 Texas Drive, in Portage.
