Sustainability office seeks nominations for new award

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University's Office for Sustainability is seeking nominations for the Sustainability Champion Awards through Monday, March 16. The awards are intended to highlight the contributions of students, faculty and staff who inspire innovation while helping to build a diverse and flourishing learning community around sustainability.

To nominate an individual, complete the online form found at wmich.edu/sustainability/projects/sustainability-champions.

The nomination process requires submitting a description of why the nominee should receive the award in 500 words or less. The award committee will select a student recipient as well as a faculty, staff or administrator recipient. Awardees will be chosen based upon their motivation and commitment to sustainability, the impact of their work, and the degree to which they engage and involve others in their efforts.

The Sustainability Champion Awards will be announced during the WeSustain Community Celebration event to be held on Thursday, April 16, at the Office for Sustainability.
