"Sleepwalk with Me" at the Little Theatre Nov. 9-11

KALAMAZOO—The Kalamazoo Film Society will present "Sleepwalk with Me" Friday through Sunday, Nov. 9-11, at Western Michigan University's Little Theatre.

Show times are 5, 7 and 9 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30, 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.

"I'm going to tell you a story, and it's true ... I always have to tell people that." So asserts comedian-turned-playwright-turned-filmmaker Mike Birbiglia, who directs and stars in this autobiographically inspired, but fictional, film. Birbiglia portrays a stand-up comedian struggling with the stress of a stalled career, a stale relationship threatening to race out of his control and the wild spurts of severe sleepwalking he is desperate to ignore. Based on the successful one-man show, "Sleepwalk with Me" engages in the kind of passionate and personal storytelling that can transfigure intimate anguish into comic art.

Also starring Lauren Ambrose, Carol Kane and James Rebhorn, the film is rated PG-13 for sexual content and language with a run time of 90 minutes.
