WMU readies for start of spring semester

Spring classes begin Jan. 9.

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University offices opened Tuesday, Jan. 3, following a 10-day closure for the holidays. Many campus services remain on reduced hours through the Jan. 9 start of spring semester.

Public events on campus Jan. 4-8 include Bronco women's basketball games at University Arena and hockey at Lawson Ice Arena.

Residence halls reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, and spring semester begins at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

Hours for selected University services

Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall hours are available on the Bernhard Center website. All facilities and mall stores are on reduced hours through Sunday, Jan. 8.

Campus computing

  • The Help Desk is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 4-6 and closed Jan. 7-8. The Help Desk resumes normal hours at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
  • The Mobile Help Desk resumes normal hours Sunday, Jan. 8, at 7:30 p.m.
  • Bernhard Computing Center in the Bronco Mall reopens at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
  • University Computing Center lab is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 4-6 and closed Jan. 7-8. The lab resumes normal hours at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

One Stop Service Center in the Bernhard Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 5-6 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 9-11.

Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 4-6 and closed Jan. 7-8. The health center resumes normal hours at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.

Student Recreation Center hours are available on the center's website. It is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 4-6; open noon to 7 p.m. Jan. 7-8-; and resumes normal hours at 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

Waldo Library is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 4-6; closed Jan. 7-8; and resumes normal hours at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
