Mary Ann Samyn is the author of two prize-winning collections of poetry: Rooms by the Sea, 1994 Kent State University Press / Wick Chapbook selection, and Captivity Narrative, 1999 Ohio State University Press / The Journal award winner. She is a graduate of the creative writing programs at Ohio University and The University of Virginia, where she held a Hoyns Fellowship. Her work has appeared in Denver Quarterly, Field, The Kenyon Review, Quarterly West, The Ohio Review, Verse, and elsewhere.
