The Western Horn Choir is a student ensemble comprising French horn music majors at Western Michigan University. This like-instrument group performs original compositions and transcriptions for horn ensemble, which tend to stretch the technical and musical possibilities of the horn. Performing in the Western Horn Choir gives students the opportunity to hear themselves and others outside of the usual chamber and large ensemble setting, thus improving accuracy, sound, blend and general ensemble playing. The ensemble rehearses once weekly under the leadership of Dr. Lin Foulk and performs two concerts each year on campus and in the greater Kalamazoo community.
