He has appeared as a guest soloist or clinician at regional, national, and international conferences including the Midwest Trombone Workshop, National Fine Arts Festival, Midwestern Music Conference, and symposia in Latin America. He has presented clinics at music conservatoires in The Netherlands, Finland, Mexico, Brazil, and Canada, and in the U.S. at the Chautauqua Institute, Eastman School, and more than 25 other colleges and universities.

He has performed with the Springfield, Missouri, and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestras and as an extra with the Dallas Symphony.

He hosted the 1990 International Trombone Workshop at WMU, and was director (and site selection chair) of the International Trombone Festival.

His articles have been published in the International Trombone Association Journal.

He is a past-president of the International Trombone Association, and currently chairs ITA’s Governance Committee.
