Thomas R. Kasdorf (1992)
Music Education

M.M. Indiana

He has been professionally involved in music education for four decades including 29 years in the Kalamazoo Public Schools.

His high school choirs sang for the National Association of Secondary School Principals, Michigan Music Educators’ Association, Michigan School Vocal Association, Michigan Choral Directors Association, Kalamazoo Symphony, and Kalamazoo Concert Band.

The Kalamazoo Singers, a community ensemble, sang for the Central Division Convention of the American Choral Directors Association, as has his choir from Kalamazoo’s First Presbyterian Church.

He received the Community Medal of Arts from the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, and Kalamazoo’s Loy Norrix High School has named its auditorium in his honor.
