Igor Fedotov (1998)
Viola

B.M. Azerbaijan State Musical College
M.M. Azerbaijan State Conservatory

"Igor Fedotov gave a brilliant solo performance... one would call it a hit...one never guessed this work contained such difficulties because of the relaxed and almost playful performance."
- Norrkopings Tidningar, Sweden

"lgor Fedotov plays with great warmth and feeling, much in the manner of Michael Kugel, and in keeping with his Russian ancestry and teaching!"
- Journal of the American Viola Society

A native of Russia, he has performed solo recitals throughout the United States and abroad, including the world premiere of Swedish composer Otto Freudenthal’s Suite for Viola and Piano at the 1997 International Viola Congress (IVC).

He presented a solo performance and conducted master classes at the 1996 IVC in Germany and a solo recital at the 2000 IVC in Sweden.

As a chamber musician, he has performed with Anner Bylsma, Martin Lovett, Ivan Monighetti, Sally Chisholm, Charles Pikler, the Lemmov Trio, Thouvenel String Quartet, Camerata Boccherini Baroque Ensemble and Veronica String Quartet.

He has served on the faculties of the University of Southern Mississippi, Sewanee Music Festival, and Meadowmount School of Music in New York.

He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Stulberg International String Competition.
