Undergraduate Audition Application

Applications for the School of Music are submitted through the Music Audition Portal. By following the links below, you will be instructed how to self-enroll in the portal. Once enrolled, you will be able to log in to the system and complete an online application form to indicate your preferred audition date, primary instrument or voice and contact information.

Within the audition portal you can read additional information about audition day schedules, posts questions on our discussion board and take a demo quiz to acquaint you with the testing process. As part of your New Student Audition Day at Western Michigan University's School of Music, you will be required to complete assessment tests in music theory and aural skills. Two of these will be administered online through the audition portal. (A third, aural skills performance assessment will be conducted live with a School of Music faculty member.)

To enroll in the audition portal, please select one of the following options:

  • New user
If you have never taken a course at Western or been issued a Bronco NetID (username), you need to enroll as a new guest user with your personal email address.
  • Existing user
If you already have a Bronco NetID (e.g., your.name@wmich.edu) from your WMU admission or a previous course, you should enroll as an existing user.

If you have questions or problems with the Music Audition Portal, contact David Loberg Code at mus-theo@wmich.edu.
