15-17 May 1998 - Louisville, KY

Call for Papers

The Ninth Annual Conference of Music Theory Midwest will be held on 15-17 May 1998 at University of Louisville, Kentucky. The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 15, 1998. The Program Committee welcomes offerings in all areas pertaining to research and pedagogy in the field of music theory. The Program Chair is Brian Hyer (University of WisconsinÐMadison), and Local Arrangements Chair is Rebecca Jemian (University of Louisville). As always, the Arthur J. Komar Award for best student paper will be presented at the conclusion of the meeting. Any student presenters who wish to be considered for this award should mention this in their cover letters. A member is considered a "student" until the receipt of a terminal degree, or the acceptance of a full-time position. Please encourage your students and colleagues to submit proposals. We hope to see you in Louisville in May of 1998!

Include a cover letter giving the author's name, e-mail address, and paper title; authors should make sure that their names do not appear on the abstract. Proposals for special sessions, which are exempt from the word limit, will not be read blind, and should include the names of the organizer and all participants.

Send five copies of an abstract (500 words maximum) to:
