Diversity and Multiculturalism Scholarship (DMS)

What is the Diversity and Multiculturalism Scholarship?

The Diversity and Multiculturalism Scholarship (DMS) award has been created to encourage the enrollment of students at Western Michigan University who will embrace the values of diversity and add to inclusion and multiculturalism on campus. Recipients will be selected by a diverse selection committee made up of individuals who are committed to the goal of advancing that endeavor. Awards will be renewable for up to four years based on the students’ demonstrated participation and achievements in the Academy.

Can I participate in the MLK Academy if I do not receive the DMS?

Yes, although priority is given to recipients of the Diversity and Multiculturalism Scholarship, as previously mentioned, a limited number of seats are available for select students who have expressed an interest and commitment to the program.
