Summer Programs

MI GEAR UP offers the Summer Academies, where students visit Western Michigan University’s campus for a week and stay overnight in a residence hall. Each academy exposes participants to all aspects of the related field through a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, and tours. Students also receive information about college admissions, financial aid, and campus life. Thirty students are admitted into each of the two academies on a first-come first-served application process.

Eligibility: Must be a 9th grader for the 2013-14 academic year at one of the following eligible high schools: Eau Claire, Benton Harbor, Fennville, Hartford, or Kalamazoo Central.

Fee: free.
