Summer Programs
MI GEAR UP offers the Summer Academies, where students visit Western Michigan University’s campus for a week and stay overnight in a residence hall. The Summer Flight Academy and Summer Engineering Academy expose participants to all aspects of the related academy field through a variety of hands-on activities, workshops, and tours. Students also receive information about college admissions, financial aid, and campus life. Thirty students are admitted into each of the two academies on a first-come first-serve application process.
