Submissions should be in English. Translate all foreign language texts quoted in the body of the essay. Provide documentation in endnotes. Submit three double-spaced (including endnotes) typed or printed copies of the essay. Illustrations should be in photocopy form only. Include the author's current e-mail address. After acceptance, submit the essay on computer disk, along with black and white glossy photographs of all illustrations and captions. It is the author's responsibility to obtain permissions for the publication of all photographs. The editors are unable to accept unsolicited book reviews.

A style sheet is available from the editorial office. In most matters of style, Studies in Iconography follows the conventions of The Chicago Manual of Style (15th ed.).
