Conference Program

The conference program and presentation abstracts are now available. Program overviews are also available, both by presenter names and by topic.  The venue will be the Fetzer Center at Western Michigan University; areas maps may be useful.

Getting to Kalamazoo

For those flying, Kalamazoo | Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) is approximately five miles from the conference site. Grand Rapids (GRR) sometimes has less expensive flights and is about an hour’s drive away. Trains are regularly available from both Detroit and Chicago, each of which is serviced by large, international airports.

Conference Hotels

Holiday Inn West. 2747 S. 11th St., Kalamazoo. 269.375.6000. The Holiday Inn has an airport shuttle, as well as shuttle service to and from the conference site; it is the recommended hotel for those who will be without cars. Conference rate is $99/night. Rooms must be reserved by 9/5 to receive the conference rate; make reference to the “Western Michigan University Medical Humanities Conference”.

Continuing Medical Education

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Michigan State Medical Society Committee on CME Accreditation through the joint sponsorship of Western Michigan University School of Medicine and WMU. Western Michigan University School of Medicine is accredited by the MSMS Committee on CME Accreditation to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Western Michigan University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditsä. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The MSMS Committee on CME Accreditation is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The Michigan Board of Nursing accepts continuing education credits from the ACCME.
