1. Friday, September 7, 2001, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Pi Mu Epsilon Pizza Party, jointly sponsored by ScMaTa. All are invited.
2. Tuesday - Thursday, 11 - 13 September 2001, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, the Pi Mu Epsilon book sale will be held in 3375 Rood Hall.
3. Friday, September 28, 2001, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Dan Isaksen, University of Notre Dame, will present a talk entitled "How to Kick a Field Goal".
4. Thursday, October 4, 2001, H. Bauschke, University of Guelph, Canada, will present a talk titled: "The Mathematics of JPEG".
5. Friday, October 12, 2001, M. Shillor, Oakland University, will present a talk titled: "Thermostats, Suspensions and Noisy Brakes".
6. Friday, October 26, 2001, 4:00 p.m. in 1104 Rood Hall, David Ross, Eastman Kodak and Rochester Institute of Technology, will present a talk entitled "Mathematics in Photography".
7. Friday, 26 October 2001, 6:00 pm, PME Initiation Banquet, Rooms 157-158 Bernhard Center. David Ross will present an after dinner talk entitled: "Bad Jokes and Cheap Tricks, Modern Mathematics at its Essence". 8. Friday, 2 November, 2001, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor Everett Tower, Michael Kinyon, WMU, will present a talk entitled: "How To Add Vectors"
9. Friday, 9 November, 2001, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor Everett Tower, Mike Raines, WMU, "Graph Decompositions and Algebraic Representations".
10. Saturday, November 17, 2001 Trip to the National Superconducting Cyclotron Lab, Michigan State University, Lansing, Michigan. Jointly sponsored with the Physics Club of WMU. For more information, please contact Dr. Mackey (nil.mackey@wmich.edu).
11. Thursday, 29 November 2001, 7:00 pm in room 1104 Rood Hall. Celebrate the end of the semester with a free movie and popcorn. The movie will be "A Brief History of Time". This event is jointly sponsored with the Physics Club.
