1. Thursday, January 17, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Pi Mu Epsilon Pizza Party, jointly sponsored by ScMaTA. All are invited. After the pizza, join us for bowling at the Bernhard Center.
2. Friday, February 15, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, John Daniels, WMU, will present a talk titled: "Where Have You Gone, Carl Yastrzemski?".
3. Friday, February 22, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Jonathan Hodge, WMU, will present a talk entitled "Separability and Symmetry and Algebra, Oh My!".
4. Friday, March 15, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Garry Johns, Saginaw Valley State University, will present a talk titled: "Crashes, Glasses, and Classes: Using Networks to Resolve Conflicts".
5. Thursday, March 21, 2002, 4:10 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Peter Hilton (Distinguished Professor Emeritus, State University of New York, Binghamton, and Distinguished Professor, University of Central Florida, Orlando) and Jean Pedersen (Santa Clara University) will present a talk titled: "The Euler Characteristic and the Descartes Deficiency". This event is partially funded by Student Activities Fees.
6. Friday, March 22, 2002, Initiation ceremonies at 3:15 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, to be followed by a special presentation by Peter Hilton entitled "Breaking High Grade German Ciphers in World War II", at 4:00 pm in 1104 Rood Hall. This event is partially funded by Student Activities Fees.
7. Friday, March 29, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Allen Schwenk, WMU, will present a talk entitled "The Anxious Gambler and Remarkable Strategy of Bold Play".
8. Friday, April 5, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Jay Wood, WMU, will present a talk, "Summing Digits"
9. Friday, April 12, 2002, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Steve Mackey, WMU, will present a talk titled: "Green's Theorem on Wheels".
10. Friday, April 19, 2002, 4:00 p.m., movie, to be announced, in the Alavi Commons Room.
