1. Friday, September 8, 2000, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Pi Mu Epsilon Pizza Party. All are invited.
2. Tuesday - Thursday, 12 - 14 September 2000, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, the Pi Mu Epsilon book sale will be held in 3375 Rood Hall.
3. Friday, September 29, 2000, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor of Everett Tower, Robert Rogers, SUNY, Fredonia, will present a talk entitled "Calculus before Calculus".
4. Friday, October 27, 2000, 4:00 p.m. in 1104 Rood Hall, Keith Devlin, St. Mary's College, will present a talk entitled "How Mathematical Ability Evolved". This talk is jointly sponsored with SCMATA. Professor Devlin frequently appears as the Math Guy on National Public Radio's "Weekend Edition - - Saturday".
5. Friday, 27 October 2000, 6:00 pm, PME Initiation Banquet, Rooms 208-209 Bernhard Center. After dinner talk by Keith Devlin, St. Mary's College, entitled "The Mathematical Ability of Supermarket Shoppers". Banquet tickets are available, for information please contact Dr. Nil Mackey, at 387-4594.
6. Friday, 10 November, 2000, 4:00 p.m. in the Alavi Commons Room, Sixth Floor Everett Tower, Kristin Moore, University of Michigan, will present a talk entitled "The Collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge: Modeling Motion in a Nonlinearly Suspended Beam."
7. Thursday, 30 November 2000, 7:00 pm in room 1004 Rood Hall. Celebrate the end of the semester with a free movie and popcorn. Jointly sponsored with the Physics Club.
