Landon Ewers has been the percussion coordinator for the Bronco Marching Band since 2008. He is a freelance percussionist, instructor, and arranger. He earned the Bachelor of Music Degree in Percussion Performance from Western Michigan University in 2001. Additionally, Landon serves as Percussion Supervisor for the Legends Performing Arts Association from Kalamazoo, MI where he writes for and manages the drum corps percussion section and serves as artistic director for Legends Winter Percussion (LWP). LWP is the 2013 Michigan Color Guard Circuit (MCGC) Independent A State Champion, a 2014 Winter Guard International Independent Open Finalist, and 2015 MCGC Independent Open State Champion. Landon teaches percussion classes and ensembles in the Byron Center School District for grades 6-12.
Landon was a snare drummer with the 1998 Santa Clara Vanguard percussion section that won the Drum Corps International Fred Sanford High Percussion Award. Before that he played snare drum for the Northern Aurora Drum and Bugle Corps in 1995 and 1996. Landon played tenor drums and snare drum for the Bronco Marching Band from 1995 to 1997. Landon has worked with several championship marching band and winter drumline programs. In addition to consulting for marching percussion programs, he maintains a private lessons studio, plays drumset in area bands, and maintains an interest in non-Western percussion.
