Joe is a first-year graduate assistant for the Western Michigan Bronco Marching Band. While studying for a Master of Music in Conducting, his responsibilities include assisting with all athletic bands, the Concert Band and various undergraduate classes. Although Joe is in his first year as a graduate student, it is not his first stint as a Bronco. He attended Western Michigan University, receiving a Bachelor of Music Education in 2009.
Prior to coming to Western, Joe was the Assistant Director of Bands at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan from 2009 to 2013. While at Oxford, Joe assisted with three concert bands, a marching band, directed the jazz band, wrote and taught the curriculum to several general music classes while also serving as the AP Music Theory instructor and IB Music coordinator for the district. In addition to his responsibilities at Oxford, Joe was an assistant director for Zenith Brass, an honors ensemble for brass and percussion students in Southeast Michigan.
