Chris Evan Hass is a senior majoring in Music Composition and minoring in Psychology. This will be his first year serving as Drum Major and fourth year in the band overall. Chris is originally from Ann Arbor, MI and graduated from Pioneer High School in 2011. At Pioneer, Chris played trombone and euphonium in the concert band, symphony band, and marching band. At Western, he’s studied with Dr. Richard Adams, Dr. Christopher Biggs, and Dr. Lisa Coons and has been involved in the concert and symphonic bands, in addition to playing in a brass quintet and singing in an a capella group called “Vocaholics”. Chris immediately fell in love with the Bronco Marching Band and has been an active member by arranging stand cheers, playing in the pep bands for hockey and basketball, and being named Section Leader of the Year in 2014. The Bronco Marching Band has made a huge impact on Chris’s life by leading him to join Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and meet life-long friends through brotherhood and music. In fact, Chris’s favorite aspect of the BMB is the overwhelming sense of family and comradery. In the rare amount of time Chris isn’t writing/arranging, conducting, or playing music, Chris enjoys going on walks, playing Guitar Hero, and listening to stand-up comedy. After graduating from Western, Chris plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in composition. Chris is beyond stoked for his last year of marching band!
