Waldo Stadium, built in 1939, is home of the WMU's football team and the Bronco Marching Band. The stadium originally seated only 15,000 but after numerous renovations Waldo's capacity has risen to over 30,000. In 2001, the grass field was replaced with the state of the art NeXturf. It's similar to AstroTurf but has a much better feel, more like grass. Each season the BMB performs during pre-game and halftime of every game at Waldo. It is a great place to perform with wonderful fans that come out every home game to support the team and the band. In 1993 the stadium added lights for night games. These night games have drawn the four largest crowds in the stadium's history.
Whether it's the fans, the team, the turf, or the city, Waldo Stadium is a wonderful place to be and the BMB is very lucky to have such an amazing stage to show Kalamazoo what they can do.
