Dr. Todd Morgan is an assistant professor of management at Western Michigan University. He completed his Ph.D. in business administration with a focus on marketing strategy and entrepreneurship at Kent State University. His general research focuses on new product development, innovation and strategic orientations of the firm and how they impact competitive advantage. More specifically, he examines how firms leverage resources and capabilities to integrate external knowledge into the firm and maximize its effectiveness for NPD. Morgan's primary focus is on small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Before joining the faculty at Western Michigan University, he taught at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and Kent State University. He has taught an array of courses including entrepreneurship, new product development and innovation, and international business. Prior to joining academia, he worked as a senior analyst at a direct marketing company in Cleveland, Ohio.
