Introduction Digital Transfer of Slides to CD-ROM began as a project sponsored by the WMU Faculty Senate and Office of Information Technology Teaching and Learning with Technology grant under the direction of principal investigator, Miranda Haddock. Over 3,300 slides covering the history of costume and architecture, interiors, and furniture were digitized, cataloged, and burnt onto CD-ROMs for individual and classroom use. The processes used for completing this project can be used to organize and display any scanned images and descriptive text using Adobe Photoshop and Extensis Portfolio software. This Web page explains the step-by-step procedures used to create the CDs as well as how to use the CD-ROMs. Members of the Western Michigan University community can view the site illustrated with selected images from Slide Presentations Publishers, Inc., slide sets History of Costume and Architecture Interiors, and Furniture which have been licensed to University Libraries. A password is required to view this version. WMU faculty, students, and staff may contact Miranda Haddock, visual resources librarian, by e-mail at Miranda.howard@wmich.edu for the password. An alternate version without illustrations is available to everyone.
