Mission
The mission of the Visual Resources Library is to support all Western Michigan
University instruction and related education by the use of still visual images.
Goals
The goals of the Visual Resources Library are to provide still visual images
for classroom instruction and other related uses.
- Every effort will be made to provide images that can be projected and used
in the classroom. Currently the Visual Resources Library contains more than 125,000
35 mm slides for classroom use. Additions will be made to the slide collection.
- Other visual materials for classroom use such as Photo CD, CD-ROM, Roll Maps,
Photographs and Reproductions will be acquired as need and acquisitions budget
allows.
- Cataloging of the Visual Resources Collection will be carried out on an ongoing
basis.
- All possible measures will be taken to maintain and preserve the Visual Resources
Collection.
