To locate articles in Physics, the following indexes, electronic journals, full text resources and databases should prove helpful.Brown University Physics Preprint Gateway Another source for preprints of articles in astrophysics, high energy physics, and other relevant areas.
High Energy Physics Newsletters and Periodicals An extensive list of newsletters and periodicals from varied sources such as the Argonne National Laboratory, Brookhaven, CERN, the European Physical Society, and NASA.
Journal of Chemical Physics A journal from the American Institute of Physics, 1985 - present.
Journal of High Energy Physics A refereed, electronic journal.
Living Reviews in Relativity An electronic, refereed journal in all areas of relativity.
Los Alamos National Labs e-Print Archive arXiv.org is an automated electronic archive for research papers in physics and related disciplines.
Mathematical Physics Electronic Journal. Published by the University of Texas at Austin Papers in mathematical physics selected through a refereeing process, overseen by an editorial board.
New Journal of Physics A peer-reviewed, all-electronic journal publishing original research in all areas of physics. An Institute of Physics and Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft journal.
New Scientist Online version of the weekly journal, with selected full text articles.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory Review ORNL Research and development magazine. 1992 - present.
Optics Express An electronic journal published by the Optical Society of America and the American Institute of Physics
Physics Journals A list of online physics journals available to the WMU community.
Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences 1990 - present.
Science and Technology Review Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory publication, 1995 - present.
Science Direct Database for scientific research that contains the citations and abstracts of more than 1,800 Elsevier journals in the life, physical, medical, technical, and social sciences as well as selected full text articles. Science Direct can be searched as a database or browsed by individual title. Coverage varies.
Databases providing access to full-text resources
The following web sites provide access to information regarding selected subject areas in Physics.Astrophysics Data System Article service This service provides free and unrestricted access to scanned images of journals, conference proceedings and books in Astronomy and Astrophysics. The complete Astrophysical Journal, 1895-1999, as well as several other journals such as Monthly Notices of the Royal astronomical Society are available in varying years.
Department of Energy(DOE) Information Bridge This database is a component of EnergyFiles, providing free access to full-text DOE research and development reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics.
NASA Technical Report Server An online database to technical reports published by various NASA centers and programs. Full text PDFs of many NASA technical reports are available from 1958 onward. In addition, full text PDFs of reports from NASA's predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics or NACA are available from 1917-1958.
Indexes and Databases
ECO (Electronic Collections Online) Full-text journals in a variety of subjects presented predominantly in PDF format, including images. Searchable as a whole collection or just those titles owned by WMU Libraries. Coverage from 1995, updated daily.
Article Indexes
INSPEC Indexes scientific and technical journals in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computers and computing, and information technology. Coverage: 1969-present. Updated weekly.
Institute of Phyics Provides access to full text articles from journals subscribed to by the WMU Libraries and free abstracts to all of their titles. You will get a Copyright Notice and be asked to "Accept Terms and Conditions" for subscribed journals. The Free Content section of the site includes free Featured Articles, Letters to the Editor, and two journals:

Covers major scholarly journals for science, medicine and engineering. Cited Ref. search feature finds articles that cited a specific author or publication. Coverage: 1900 - present. Details

SPIN "...SPIN contains the abstracts of over 80 scientific journals published by the American Institute of Physics and its member societies since 1975, as well as selected articles from other scientific journals, totalling approximately 800,000 articles.... SPIN is updated daily. Approximately 45,000 new records are added annually. SPIN searches can be performed for a single journal or year, or across multiple journals or years."
