This is probably the best example of a journal issued by the CPA (Certified Public Accountants) society, with articles of interest to CPAs on accounting, auditing, taxation; also news about new trends, taxes, etc. More info

CQ Researcher restricted Explores a current news issue in-depth each week. Articles typically include charts, graphs and sidebars, a pro-con feature, a chronology, lengthy bibliography, and a list of contacts. Coverage from October 1991 to present.

Economist

A British weekly that covers feature articles and news of worldwide interest both on world politics and current affairs, and on business, finance, and science. The current affairs section includes surveys from each geographic region.

Federal Reserve Bulletin.
1915 to present. Monthly. HG 2401 .A5 This is the best single source for finding current U.S. banking and monetary statistics, including federal finance, interest rates on money and capital markets, stock market indexes, new security issues, mortgage markets, flow of funds, consumer installment credit, interest and exchange rates; also some international financial statistics and basic U.S. business statistics including the well-known Federal Reserve Board's index of industrial production. The articles in each issue cover recent developments.

The Financial Analysts Journal

Authoritative articles covering theory and practical problems in relation to new developments in investment, security analysis, accounting, etc. It also includes news about securities laws and regulations, and pension funds. More info

Business topics of interest to business and financial executives, including prospects for industries and individual companies and brief sketches of individuals. The two most important annual issues are "Annual Report on American Industry" (January issue) and "Annual Directory Issue" (April). Other useful annual features include "Performance Ratings on 666 Mutual Funds" (February), Annual Mutual Fund Survey (September), the "Forbes International 500 Survey" (July).

This well known magazine contains concise and interesting articles on all aspects of business and management: U.S. or foreign corporate performance of specific companies, innovation, money and markets, the economy, politics and policy, technology, and executive life. Also has special issues for lists of largest companies such as "Fortune 500", "Fortune Service 500" and other special issues such as "Best Cities for Business" and more. 1947 to date. Biweekly.

Harvard Business Review 1922 to present. Bimonthly.

One of the most outstanding professional management journals, with practical articles by recognized authorities on all aspects of general management and policy. There are usually about ten major articles in each issue plus regular feature articles in particular areas and an HBS case study.

Each issue usually contains about ten articles, of which four usually focus on a specific theme and the rest are on any of a wide range of HRM topics such as compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, communications, or recruitment; also one book review and several pages of book notes. Since the purpose of this journal is to improve communication between managers and MS/OR (Management Science/Operations Research) professionals, most articles are on the use or application of MS/OR in commerce, industry, government, or education, and they are usually nonmathematical in approach. Includes book reviews. More info

Institutional Investor May 1967 to date. Monthly.

A practical journal of interest to money managers. Its articles are on such topics as money management, banks, pensions, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, portfolio strategy, and profiles of specific money managers.

Investor's Business Daily
Library retains two months only.
This daily financial newspaper has many of the same financial tables as the Wall Street Journal but also with differences. It is primarily statistical although, beginning in September 1991, it has three articles on the first page: one on a national issue or important company; one a profile on an important decision-maker; one on a top economic or business story.  Library retains latest two (2) months in newspaper section, lower level, Waldo Library.

Billed as the "industry management magazine," this consists of short, practical articles of current interest to managers on a wide range of topics. Also includes regular departments with news about economic trends, emerging technologies, Washington, and more. The mid-November issue has an "Annual CEO Survey." More info

Journal of Accountancy

A long-time journal providing articles on new trends and topics of current interest to the practicing CPA, with special emphasis on financial accounting. Contains practitioners' forum, official releases (including FASB Statements), and a section called "Current Reading." More info

Journal of Advertising

Short but well researched articles often written by academicians and usually including a bibliography. Covers a wide range of topics with the aim to publish articles that contribute to the development of advertising theory and its relationship to advertising practices and processes. More info

Another good but more specialized journal of the AMA, this one is for professional articles on concepts and quantitative methods used in solving marketing research problems. Each issue has a section called "Research Notes and Communications" and a book review section. More info

A national professional journal of current tax developments and trends for tax practitioners. Includes summaries of tax decisions, court actions, revenue rulings issued each month, and occasionally an annotated list of "Recent Tax Literature." More info

MIS Quarterly: management information systems

A professional journal, with state-of-the-art survey articles and refereed articles on both the theory and practice within MIS. Most articles are by academic persons and most include bibliographic references.

A widely read journal for the layman, with popularly written articles on personal and family finance, and on such topics of current interest and concern as money management, investments, taxes, insurance, and careers. "The Money Rankings" is an annual ranked list of some 900 top mutual fund performers arranged by type of fund (February issue). More info

The goal of this journal is to provide a central forum for the distribution of timely information about network problems, their design and mathematical analysis, and algorithms for carrying out optimization on networks.

Sales & Marketing Management

This widely known trade journal began publication in 1918 as Sales Management. It is best known for its excellent special issues which are: 1) the "Survey of Buying Power" August issue, for current estimates showing the U.S. regional variations in population, income, retail sales, and buying power; 2) the "Survey of Media Markets" October issue, consisting of percentage change over five years for population, EBI, and total retail sales for each metro area; and 3) "Sales Manager's Budget Planner" June issue contains "Metro Market Profiles" for 94 major U.S. metro markets and for six in Canada. Software: Practice and Experience1996 to present. Monthly. An international refereed journal for the dissemination and discussion of practical experience with new and established software for both systems and applications. The journal also features timely short communications on rapidly developing new topics.

Systems Research and Behavioral Science1997 to present. Bimonthly
This journal publishes original articles on new theories, experimental research, and applications. Its scope is comprehensive, dealing with systems approaches to: the redesign of original and societal structures; the management of administrative and business process; problems of change management; the implementation of procedures to increase the quality of work and life; the resolution clashes of norms and values; social cognitive processes; modeling; the introduction of new scientific results.
