CAMIO - OCLC's Catalog of Art Museum Images CAMIO contains over 23,000 images of works of art representing a broad range of fine and decorative arts from well-known collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Lost Angeles County Museum of Art, the Asia Society, and the Victorian and Albert Museum. All works are represented by a high-resolution image and description. Some images also have additional views plus sound, video, and curatorial notes. Images are available for use classroom use, research, educational web sites, and other forms of educational projects. This tool is designed for use in studio art, art history, anthropology, religion, and other courses in the humanities. CAMIO replaces the AMICO Library.
ARTstor ARTstor is a digital image database containing more than 300,000 art images and descriptive information for noncommercial and scholarly, non-profit educational use. Among the collections represented in ARTStor at the John C. and Susan L Huntinton Archive of Buddhist Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Uffizi Gallery, the Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography at the Cooper Union School of Art, and the National History Museum, London. ARTStor also provides the tools to create presentations using ARTStor images combined with images from users personal collections.
AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive This archive is composed of photos, graphics, text, and audio clips from the Associated Press (AP). The photo archive contains photographs from the current year's collection and a selection of images of negatives and prints dating back to the 1840s. Most of the coverage is from 1995. The graphics archive includes graphics, maps, illustrations, and logos prepared by AP artists since 1999. The audio database has more than half a million audio clips from the 1920s to the present. The text database contains over 700,000 full-text AP articles. All are updated daily.
Slide Collection
Growing collection of 35-mm slides for classroom and research use. Includes western and nonwestern art, maps, design, photography and many other subjects. Slides acquired after January 1998 are cataloged in WestCat. A guide to Finding Slides in WestCat: Searching Techniques can be found online. A spin-off catalog, ImageCat, for WMU users only, is limited to slide records. Many records in ImageCat contain a thumbnail image. The slide collection is located in the Visual Resources Library, 2213 Sangren Hall.
AICT Art Images for College Teaching Site compiled by professors at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Contains images for the teaching and study of art history survey courses and much more.
Picture File Collection of magazine and newspaper illustrations of art and popular culture from the first decade of the s20th century through the early 1980s. Located in the Visual Resources Library.
FotosearchImage database of stock photography, illustration, clip art, stock footage, and stock music containing both royalty free and royalty managed pictures. Includes many royalty free images of monumental architecture. More info
Corbis - The Place for Pictures on the InternetThis Web site contains a collection of digital images covering many subject areas. Think of this site as an electronic picture file with fine art images as well as images of objects. Imaging licensing is available for Corbis images.
VIREO Image collection includes images of birds in full view and detail, including close-up views of feathers created by the Academy of Natural Sciences in Pennsylvania. Images are copyrighted. More info
Index of Christian Art Records over 23,000 Christian art works in worldwide collections from early apostolic time to 1400 AD. Records include subject and stylistic descriptors, school, object type, bibliographies and picture references, cross references, locations, and digital images, when available.(May not work from off campus.)
