Includes the multi-volume Dictionary of Art, links to images and Web sites useful for art research. "Explore" allows users to customize browse lists. Also provides access to The Oxford Companion to Western Art, The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. More info

Most current and comprehensive of the art encyclopedias covers Western and non-Western art. Includes signed articles written by scholars in the field. Black and white illustrations and photographs.

Encyclopedia of World Art
N 31 .E533 (Waldo Reference, Visual Resources Library Reference) Thorough coverage on Western art through the mid-20th century. Entries on art and artists of the Renaissance are especially useful. Some entries addressing non-Western art. This encyclopedia was published in 1968, therefore, it is not as up to date as Grove Art Online and The Dictionary of Art. However, it does provide excellent background information on Western art prior to 1968. Black and white plates.
