allAfrica.com This African news site posts over 800 stories daily in English and French and offers multi-lingual streaming programming as well as over 900,000 articles in the archive, including the Africa News Service from 1997.
ARTFL Project A database produced by the American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language (University of Chicago) of nearly 2000 texts ranging from classic French literature to nonfiction and technical writing. Includes medieval and Renaissance as well as 18th, 19th, and 20th century works in many genres, such as fiction, poetry, theater, journalism, essays, correspondence and treatises. Subjects include literary criticism, biology, history, economics, and philosophy.
E-collections at the Center for Research Libraries The Center for Research Libraries acquires and preserves a wide range of newspapers, journals, documents, archives and other traditional and digital resources for research and teaching. With this digital collection their goal is to provide all CRL holdings in electronic form within the next few years.
FBIS Electronic Index (CD-ROM, Waldo Library, First Floor, Reference Area) Contains citations to full-text articles in The Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS), available in print and microfiche in Waldo Library. Reports contain translations of broadcasts, newspaper and periodical articles, and government announcements from around the world covering political, governmental, and other international events. Iter - Gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance A non-profit research project enables more access to published materials about the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700) through online bibliographic databases. Includes books and articles.
Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts Indexes and abstracts all aspects of language study including linguistics, phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Some of the physical and medical aspects of language are also included, such as speech pathology. About 1,500 English and foreign language sources are indexed. Coverage: 1973-present. Updated monthly.
LitFinder Includes full texts of selected poems, short stories, essays, plays and speeches. The PoemFinder features 125,000 full-text poems, 850,000 additional cited and excerpted poems, keyword and author searching, as well as biographies of poets and some critical interpretations. In LitFinder you can search by author or title but also by genre (e.g. children's literature, humor); by subject (e.g. nature, religion); and within author you can limit by time period, genre, and religious affiliation.
PAIS International (Public Affairs Information Service) Indexes articles, books, conference proceedings, government documents, research reports, statistical directories, and more about public affairs worldwide. Coverage is from the 1972 and is updated monthly.
Repere Indexes about 560 French-language periodicals in all subject areas, published in Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, France, Belgium and Switzerland. Coverage goes back to 1980 and is updated daily.
