Art Abstracts restricted Indexes more than 400 of the leading journals in the arts, including areas such as archaeology, architecture, art history, city planning, crafts, film, folk art, industrial design, interior design, landscape architecture, musicology, painting, photography, sculpture, television, textiles, and video. Coverage is from 1984 with abstracts since 1994. Updated monthly.

Art Index Retrospective: 1929-1984 restricted This index covers back issues of Art Index and includes citations from over 420 periodicals in English and other languages. Covering fine, decorative and commercial art, it also indexes reproductions of art works appearing in these periodicals.

CAMIO - OCLC's Catalog of Art Museum Images restricted CAMIO contains over 23,000 images of works of art representing a broad range of fine and decorative arts from well-known collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Lost Angeles County Museum of Art, the Asia Society, and the Victorian and Albert Museum. All works are represented by a high-resolution image and description. Some images also have additional views plus sound, video, and curatorial notes. Images are available for use classroom use, research, educational web sites, and other forms of educational projects. This tool is designed for use in studio art, art history, anthropology, religion, and other courses in the humanities. CAMIO replaces the AMICO Library.

ARTstor restricted ARTstor is a digital image database containing more than 300,000 art images and descriptive information for noncommercial and scholarly, non-profit educational use. Among the collections represented in ARTStor at the John C. and Susan L Huntinton Archive of Buddhist Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Uffizi Gallery, the Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography at the Cooper Union School of Art, and the National History Museum, London. ARTStor also provides the tools to create presentations using ARTStor images combined with images from users personal collections.

DAAI: Design and Applied Arts Index restricted Contains annotated references from over 500 design and craft journals about all aspects of design (interior, fashion, retail, theater, and others). Also indexes newspapers, conference reports, and reviews of books, videos, and exhibitions. Separate directories list college and university craft and design courses as well as journals in these fields. Coverage from 1973 to present.

Bibliography of the History of Art restricted Indexes and abstracts more than 4,000 journals as well as books and other publications in European and American art from antiquity to the present. Coverage from 1973 to the present. Updated quarterly.

JSTOR restricted Full-text access to selected scholarly journals in a number of humanities and social sciences disciplines. Search by individual title or in the whole collection. This database contains only back issues and does not include issues of the most recent 3 to 5 years.

Index of Christian Art restricted Records over 23,000 Christian art works in worldwide collections from early apostolic time to 1400 AD. Records include subject and stylistic descriptors, school, object type, bibliographies and picture references, cross references, locations, and digital images, when available.(May not work from off campus.)

Expanded Academic ASAP restricted An index to a variety of scholarly journals in all academic disciplines as well as numerous news magazines and newspapers. Many include full-text. Coverage: 1980-present.

Librarian's Comment: Useful source for exhibition reviews.

Arts and Humanities Search restricted (FirstSearch) Indexes articles from over 1,300 arts and humanities journals and selectively covers relevant articles from over 5,800 social science and science journals. Coverage is from 1980 to the present. Updated weekly. See also the Arts and Humanities Citation Index.

LexisNexis Academic restricted Indexes thousands of domestic and foreign newspapers, as well as journals, and other publications in News, Business company reports and articles, Legal Research, Medical and Reference. The legal research category includes law reviews, law news, federal and state laws and cases. Mostly full text. Coverage dates vary.

Librarian's Comment: Useful source for full-text newspaper articles and exhibition reviews.

Arts & Humanities Citation Index restricted (Web of Science) The Arts & Humanities Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database that indexes 1,144 of the world's leading arts and humanities journals, and selected, relevant items from over 6,800 major science and social science journals. Coverage is from 1975 to the present.

World Painting Index
This work leads the user to resources containing images of specific paintings.  It is indexed by painting title and artist names.  A most useful tool for students, instructors, and scholars who seek an image of a particular work. More info

Women Artists on Disc

A comprehensive bibliography of women artists and a resource guide to reference materials on women's art history in the Western world. Integrates four classic, annotated bibliographies previously published as printed volumes. Contains citations from 6,500 reference sources covering 25, 000 women artists and designers.
