WMU Map CollectionThe atlases in WMU's Map Collection are indexed in WestCat but the sheet maps are not. To find these maps, use the card catalog in the map room. A main part of the map collection is large-scale topographic maps (1:24,000) for the entire United States. Index maps provided by the United State Geological Survey are used to locate specific maps. The collection also contains topographic maps covering most areas of the world.
Geodata.govGeodata is the federal government's effort to provide a single site for accessing maps, data, and other geospatial services.
National Geologic Map Database A catalog of paper and digital geologic maps and related data for all the geosciences. Includes resources from the USGS, state agencies, associations, and research institutes.
U.S. Geological Survey libraryCatalog of the USGS library, searchable by title, author, and subject. Includes links to the Cartographic Information Center collection of current and historic maps; the Geographic Names Information System of physical and cultural map features; the Photographic Library of geological and historical prints, the Field Records collection of geologic data; the Minerals Information collection; the GEOcenter educational collection, and the EROS collection of aerial photographs, satellite imagery, and digital land surface mapping.
Geologic Guidebooks of North America DatabaseSearchable database of references to geologic field trip guidebooks of North America. Most of the guidebooks cited are from the period 1940-1988. Beginning in 2002, new guidebooks will be added to GeoRef as part of the regular database production, and then added to the guidebook database from the GeoRef records.
Publications of the U.S. Geological Survey
1982-1996,1998-2000 Z 6034 .U49 U54x (Sci. Ref) Publications of the U.S. Geological Survey is a subset of the GeoRef database of the American Geological Institute. The database provides access to the publications of the USGS and includes references to U.S. Geological Survey reports and maps published from 1880 to date, references to non-USGS publications with USGS authors published from 1983 to date, and 225 references to reports produced by the Hayden, King, Powell, and Wheeler surveys.
