This site presents a chronological selection of full-text documents relating to the history of the United States, beginning in the 11th century through the year 2000.

Documents from the Continental Congress and the Constitutional Convention, 1764-1789 Part of the Library of Congress's American Memory project, this site highlights some of the most significant historical documents of the Revolutionary and early National periods. Contains the full text of nearly 300 documents.

Documents of American History
E 173 .C66 1973 (Ref) The 695 documents included in this work, from 1492 to 1973, are designed to illustrate the course of American history from the Age of Discovery to the early 1970s. Includes such things as the Stamp Act of 1765, the Articles of Confederation, the Missouri Compromise, the Homestead Act of 1862, and the Platt Amendment of 1903.

Documents range from presidential speeches, international agreements, and Supreme Court decisions to U.S. governmental reports, scientific findings, and cultural discussions.

Historical Text ArchiveA useful site, maintained by Donald Mabry of Mississippi State University, that contains the full text of many historical documents from around the world. Arrangement is by country or by topics, such as women, Native Americans, Native Americans, and war. This site is especially strong in U.S. documents.
