Title: Encyclopedia of ED Statistics -- NCES
Description: Education Statistics at a Glance by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) offers quick and easy access to recent versions of four of the center's most popular publications: The Condition of Education: 2000, The Digest of Education Statistics: 1999, Education Indicators: An International Perspective and Youth Indicators 1996. From the site users can directly access the tables of contents, browse by subject area, and conduct full-text and table searches.

Title: Explorations in Learning & Instruction: The Theory Into Practice Database
Description: TIP is a tool intended to make learning and instructional theory more accessible to educators. The database contains brief summaries of 50 major theories of learning and instruction. These theories can also be accessed by learning domains and concepts.

Title: History of American Education Web Project
Description: Produced by education students as a college class project, includes history divided into historical periods as follows: European influences, colonial period (ca. 1600-1776), early national period (ca. 1776-1840), the common school period (ca. 1840-1880), the progressive period of (ca. 1880-1920), and the modern period. (ca. 1920-present). It was originated and is currently maintained by Professor Robert N. Barger. It is dedicated to F. Raymond McKenna, longtime Professor of Philosophy and History of Education at Eastern Illinois University. It has been designated as an "Internet Site of the Day" by THE CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION and also as a selection of the Internet Scout Report for the Social Sciences.

Description: HA 202 (Reference Desk Collection; editions prior to 1970 are shelved in general stacks on 2nd floor.) Published annually since 1878 by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, this is a standard national data book for United States statistics. A statistical annual that focuses upon current trends, issues, and conditions from preschool to graduate school. Sporadically, special issues have been released that treat a given topic in depth.

An annual source that provides statistical data about American education from preschool to graduate school. The data is primarily drawn from the national center for education statistics, but is supplemented by other governmental and non-governmental information sources.
