FindLaw
An extensive source for case law (state and federal), administrative law, constitutional law, consumer law, directories, legal news, and other law related references. Useful for legal professionals, students, the general public, and corporate counsels.

Legal Information InstituteCreated at Cornell University's Law School, the more subdued Legal Information Institute takes a potentially overwhelming number of links to resources on all aspects of US law and manages them in a simple, easy-to-grasp format using logical legal categories and subcategories with succinct pull-down menus.

Justice TalkingThis Web site corresponds to National Public Radio's Justice Talking weekly radio program produced by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Hosted by veteran NPR correspondent Margot Adler, the program uses a town meeting format, examining current court cases and controversies relating to important questions of constitutional law. Background reports are given for each controversy, in addition to debate among accomplished legal professionals, and opportunities for audience participation. Audio transcripts of the radio program are featured.

LexisNexis Academic restricted Indexes thousands of domestic and foreign newspapers, as well as journals, and other publications in News, Business company reports and articles, Legal Research, Medical and Reference. The legal research category includes law reviews, law news, federal and state laws and cases. Mostly full text. Coverage dates vary.

US Code
The United States Code contains the general and permanent laws of the United States. These are seachable and browsable. 1994 plus Supplements.

Michigan Compiled Laws
1979. (M.C.L. or Mich.Comp.Laws)
KFM 4230 1979 .A23 (Ref)
Kept up to date by Public and Local Acts of the Legislature of the State of Michigan. The codification of Michigan statutory law.

Michigan Statutes Annotated
(M.S.A. or Mich.Stat.Ann.)
KFM 4230 .A3x (Ref)
Kept up to date with cumulative pocket parts. Uses a different section numbering system than the M.C.L. and the M.C.L.A., so you have to use a table volume to translate from one to the other. With all three of these the number given after what appears to be a decimal, is not really a decimal. Numbers after periods should be read sequentially as a whole number, e.g., 28.34 comes before 28.127.
