Downloading and Installing SciFinder Scholar 2007 to your Computer

The SciFinder client needs to be installed only once until CAS issues a new version.
Access to the client and download of the license file is only available on campus.

For Windows

Step 1: Download the installer program and save it into a temporary location like your desktop.

Step 2: To install the program, double click the installer icon. If asked "Do you have a disk labeled Custom Site Files?", click No.

Step 3: Right-click this configuration file (site.prf) then select Save as and save it into the application folder "C:\SFSCHLR" on your computer.

Step 4 (optional): If you want to be able to view 3D-structures, download Discovery Studio Visualizer (freeware).

For Macintosh

Step 1: Download the installer program and save it into a temporary location like your desktop.

Step 2: To install the program, double click the installer icon. If asked "Do you have a disk labeled Custom Site Files?", click No.

Step 3: Right-click this configuration file (site.prf) then select Save As and save it to your desktop. Then follow these instructions

Step 4 (optional): If you want to be able to view 3D-structures, download Discovery Studio Visualizer (freeware).
