The Zhang Legacy Collections Center opened in early October 2013. The facility houses the University Archives and Regional History Collections and storage of University Libraries collections. Facilities include: a public area for researchers, genealogists, community members, and students to access the collections; environmentally controlled storage; and offices/workspace for collections, faculty, and staff. A future phase will include an Athenaeum, a flexible space for meetings and presentations. Donations are being sought for this phase. Link to donations site.

The Archives preserves the papers, files, and history of Western Michigan University. The Regional History Collections helps preserve the history of a 12-county southwest Michigan area and is one of the largest in Michigan. It is located on the Oakland Drive Campus of Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. Please note the Archives' hours.
