Highlights Tour: The University Libraries
The University Libraries contain over 3 million books, periodicals, and other items that have been purchased specifically to support the courses taught at Western Michigan University.

Campus Map

Waldo Library is centrally located on the campus and is accessible from Arcadia Road or Vande Giessen. A limited number of visitor parking spaces are available in the lot behind the Library.

The Music and Dance Library

The Music and Dance Library

The Music and Dance Library's collection contains:

  • books and periodicals on music and dance
  • music scores and recordings
  • a collection of vocal and instrumental sheet music
The Visual Resources Library

The Visual Resources Library

The Visual Resources Library's slide collection contains well-known works of art such as paintings, sculpture, architecture, design, drawings, photographs, and illuminated manuscripts from all regions of the world. It also houses a picture collecton of images of 20th century American culture, donated by Kalamazoo Public Library. The collection is open to faculty, graduate students, and staff from all Western Michigan University departments.

WMU Archives and Regional History Collection

The Archives and Regional History Collection (East Campus)

University records and materials on the twelve counties of Southwest Michigan, including manuscripts of early residents may be found here. It is also the Regional Depository of the State Archives for public records.
