Turabian's A Manual for Writers: A Brief Guide
This sheet is a brief guide to Kate L. Turabian's A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations. It does not substitute for the manual itself. If you are using parenthetical bibliographic references, or need more complete information on any style topic, consult the complete Manual (Call number LB 2369 .T8 Ref. Desk Collection). Some instructors prefer The Chicago Manual of Style (Call number Z 253 .C57 Ref. Desk Collection) since the Turabian guide is a condensed version of this longer guide. Other instructors prefer other publication manuals. We have prepared brief guides to the two other most commonly used manuals, the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (BF 76.7 .P83 Ref. Desk Collection), and the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (LB 2369 .G53 Ref. Desk Collection).
