Orientations & tours
The University Libraries offer a variety of ways to explore its facilities
and services.
- Take a virtual tour of the University Libraries by selecting the Highlights Tour
module in Labyrinth, our online library tutorial.
- Take a self-guided tour of Waldo Library. All visitors to Waldo Library are
invited to take advantage of the self-guided tour handouts available at the Central
Reference Desk on the main floor of Waldo Library and at other service areas
in the library. These handouts provide locations and information on the Libraries'
collections and identify key service points in Waldo Library.
- Freshmen at Western Michigan University receive a brief introduction to the
libraries through the University's Orientation sessions, which provide a tour
of Waldo Library.
- Many students also elect to take University 1010, which includes a unit that
introduces them to library services and to searching for articles and books in
the University Libraries. University 1010 students also complete Labyrinth,
our Web-based tutorial that includes information about the branch libraries as
well as and a Highlights Tour of Waldo Library. Labyrinth is also available to
students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
