Coverage: 1967- present. Updated monthly. Medline (FirstSearch) The major index to medical research, from clinical medicine to cellular and biomolecular biology. Produced by the US National Library of Medicine. Coverage: 1965 - present. Updated daily. Provides a simple search environment for Medline. Access via Library subscription. PubMed SciFinder Scholar Online access to the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) databases. This extensive chemistry index supplies abstracts of journal articles, conferences, dissertations, technical reports, patent references, substance records, substructure, formula and reaction searching. Covers all aspects of chemistry including chemical engineering, environmental science, pharmacology, medicine, and food science. Coverage from 1907-date. Updated daily. Personal access requires client download restricted to WMU community. Also available via terminals in Science Reference, Waldo Library. REU students can use this in the library or via loaded computers in labs. Scopus Web of Science Web of Science from the ISI Web of Knowledge contains three major databases covering all areas of knowledge: Science Citation Index Expanded (1900-present), Social Sciences Citation Index (1956-present), and Arts & Humanities Citation Index (1975-present). The literature can be searched by subject, author, journal title, and author's address. Cited Ref. Search allows users to search for articles that cite a particular author or work. Please LOGOFF when finished, so others may use the database. Tutorial Selected JournalsElectronic Journals Search for online availability of particular journals at WMU. ACS Web Editions Searchable collection of more than 30 peer-reviewed journals and magazines published by the American Chemical Society. BioOne A searchable and interlinked collection of over 200 high-impact, peer-reviewed full-text journals, focused on the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences. Includes The Arabidopsis Book. Most of BioOne's titles are published by societies and non-profit scholarly publishers. Coverage, 2000-date. Continuously updated. Nature Online coverage (6/1997- ) Science Science Direct Database for scientific research that contains the citations and abstracts of more than 1,800 Elsevier journals in the life, physical, medical, technical, and social sciences as well as selected full text articles. Science Direct can be searched as a database or browsed by individual title. Coverage varies. BooksWestCat/Library Catalog Call numbers WMU Libraries uses the Library of Congress call numbering system. Call number locations. EncyclopediasAccessMedicine McGraw-Hill provides this set of online medical books that are both searchable and browsable for students and professionals. AccessScience The McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, online. Credo Reference (Formerly Xreferplus) Full text online from about 240 encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference books all cross-referenced. Labyrinth A tutorial designed for FYE 2100 and University 1010 students.
