Finding Waldo Library (main library)
Driving Directions: From Interstate 94: Take Exit #74, U.S.
131 North. Go 2.7 miles. Take Exit #36, Stadium Drive, East. Drive approximately
2.6 miles to Howard Street (this is the 4th stop light). Turn left onto Howard
and cross the railroad tracks.
Take the first street to the right after the railroad
crossing, South Vande Giessen Road. Take South Vande Giessen to the first stop
sign, Western Avenue, and turn right. Take the next left which is North Vande
Giessen/Arcadia Road. Once you have turned onto North Vande Giessen/Arcadia,
you will be able to see Waldo Library (large white building with pink tile) at
the end of the street.
Take Arcadia around the curve past the library and then
take the first driveway on the left. This is the back parking lot area.
Parking
There are four metered visitor parking spaces
directly inside the parking lot located directly behind Waldo Library. Visitors
may purchase a parking permit ($5.00 for the day), at the Copy Center located
on the second floor of Waldo Library. This permit allows one to park in any of
the "R" (faculty/staff) parking lots located on campus.
Once the permit
has been purchased, a visitor must hang it immediately from the vehicle's rearview
mirror, or else the car may be ticketed by campus police. Should a visitor receive
a ticket before hanging the parking permit from the rearview mirror, just mail
the ticket along with the parking permit to WMU Public Safety and they will cancel
the ticket. From 4:00 p.m. on Fridays through midnight on Sundays, visitors may
park free in any of the "R" (faculty/staff) parking lots.
