Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (M.A.)
30 credit, 18-Month M.A. Option 
- 30-credit program (for 3 of 4 available concentrations) designed to better prepare future educational leaders.
- Multi-year course offering plan allowing students to complete their MA program in 18-months (locations include WMU’s main Kalamazoo campus and the Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Muskegon, and Southwest regional locations).
- Cutting-edge classes such as Data-Informed Decision-Making Research and Evaluation, and Instructional Leadership and Supervision.
- Full alignment with the state voluntary K-12 Administrator Certification and Basic Principal Endorsement requirements.
- Full alignment with a K-12 Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.), which requires just 30 additional credits beyond the new 30-credit MA in Educational Leadership Degree.
To complete the Principal Leadership Concentration in 18 months, students will begin in either a fall or spring semester AND take 2 courses per semester (plus a 1 credit Education Leadership Masters Seminar their first semester), as well as take four classes during the summer (one during summer I and three during summer II).
Students who cannot take two classes per semester within the Principal Leadership concentration are able to start at any time and take whatever number of courses they can each semester (taking longer to graduate). These students, as well as those within the other master's concentrations (Teacher Leadership, Organizational Analysis, and Higher Education & Student Affairs Leadership) can use the EDLD Master's Degree Multi-Year Course Offering Plan to develop a timeline for their program of studies.
