Dave Louis is an Assistant Professor in Higher Education and Student Affairs in the Educational Leadership, Research and Technology Department, College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University; Ed.M. from Harvard and B.A. from Morehouse College. Dr. Louis teaches many courses in the higher education program including history, law, governance, student development theory and diversity and equity. His research interest includes international and global education, minority issues in higher education, and land grant universities. His preferred approach to research is quantitative; however, he has also delved into qualitative analysis. Prior to joining WMU, Dr. Louis held several administrative positions including interim-executive director of the Honors Program and director of the Byrne Student Success Center both at Texas A&M University.
