The Resource Room is available to visitors who wish to catch up on the latest LBGT-related news, take a break between classes, check out a book from the Lending Library, pick up free safer sex supplies, or conduct LBGT-related research. Everyone is welcome to sit and read at their leisure or strike up a conversation with other Resource Room users.
The Resource Room is the place to go on campus for information about LBGTA community agencies and national organizations. Safer sex supplies and information on HIV/AIDS and healthy relationships are also available. Our staff can help you locate the unisex restrooms on campus, find LBGT-related courses at WMU, and register you for our office’s programs. Visitors are welcome to browse our carousel of brochures and health-related pamphlets.
The Lending Library is open to anyone on campus interested in learning more about LBGT-related subjects or issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. We encourage everyone to browse the library’s collection of books, including fiction, mystery, romance, biography, non-fiction, comic books, and more. We also subscribe to LBGT-related news magazines such as The Advocate, Out, Lesbian Connection, and Between the Lines. Books, videotapes, and magazines may be checked out for up to one month with a valid WMU ID. DVD's are available for student organizations and faculty members. A computer may be accessed for online research on LBGT-related topics when scheduled in advance. Those using the library to work on class assignments are encouraged to plan ahead so that office staff may assist with locating resources and provide requested information.
